It has been a couple of years since I last blogged. I kept threatening to do so but for some reason once you stop, you stop. If I could only incorporate that theory into my eating habits.
Last I left you, I was writing about culture change as it relates to food service in nursing homes. Let me give you a brief update about that. For those who don't know me, and I suspect there are plenty based on the fact that no one has accessed my blog page. Well almost no one, my daughter did, but I had to buy her a dinner to do so. My name is John Ladish, I have been the food service director at Orchard View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitative Care for well over 20 years. ( I suspect that my boss has not caught on to me yet, hence such a long employment). I have often thought of myself as a visionary when it comes to the business and pleasure of serving our residents at Orchard View. Several years ago, our administrator Mr. Bisbano challenged his department heads with a monthly vision meeting. These meetings were to get us to think of new and innovative ideas that when we put them into place, it could potentially make us better, and stronger than the competition. The challenge was set, and accepted, and I haven't looked back since.
Tomorrow I will write about some of the gains that Orchard View Manor has made with respect to culture change.
By the way, nice to be back.
